Naiomi-JUGNaomi has participated in the “Just Us Girls” program at Seven Hills since the age of 10, and graduated from the program in May 2025.

Naomi’s diagnosis of Autism and ADHD impacted her ability to develop social relationships with peers, particularly during her middle school years. Naomi’s parents were very concerned about their daughter’s emotional well-being and enrolled her in the “Just Us Girls” program.

When Naomi first enrolled in the program, she was extremely shy and was very hesitant, covering her face with her hoodie during activities and not interacting with the group. Since those early years, we’ve had the wonderful opportunity to watch Naomi develop her self-confidence, self-determination, and blossom into the wonderful young woman she has become!

During Naomi’s high school years, she showed positive changes and growth in her social and emotional development, developing more self-confidence, initiating conversations, asking thoughtful questions, and enjoying all group activities. Many times, Naomi chose to lead group discussions, making sure to include every girl so they could share their thoughts openly without judgment.

Due to Naomi’s ability to get along and work cooperatively with others, her peers considered her a good “mentor”, always willing to assist and offer help. Naomi’s pleasant personality and subtle humor will be greatly missed as she graduates from Just Us Girls and moves on to the “Just Us Women’s” program!

The support of these programs through the New Beginnings Charity Golf Tournament makes these life-changing opportunities available for thousands of people who look to Seven Hills for help.

About Just Us Girls

Children and adolescents with disabilities are two to three times more likely to be bullied than their non-disabled peers. Isolation and loneliness compound their vulnerability. Just Us Girls at Seven Hills is a unique skills development program for girls with special needs who struggle to create relationships and real friendships, at least in part because of their disabilities. Just Us Girls uses evidence-based, best-practice curricula to explore and teach important topics that promote mental and physical well-being and safety, with an emphasis on healthy relationships.

Just Us Girls programming could not enhance the lives of the girls who participate without our generous funders.
