Skilled Nursing for Children & Young Adults with Complex Needs
Seven Hills Foundation’s Children’s Medical & Skilled Nursing services provide comprehensive, specialized care for children and young adults with complex medical and developmental needs. The flagship facility, Seven Hills Pediatric Center (SHPC), is an 83-bed pediatric skilled nursing community delivering residential healthcare, therapy, and educational services in a supportive, family-centered environment.
SHPC also operates a post-acute program, offering short-term care—up to 12 weeks—for children of all ages and cognitive levels with complex medical and behavioral needs prior to returning home. In partnership with Tufts Dental, SHPC provides on-site dental care, ensuring integrated, accessible health services. Educational needs are met through the Seven Hills Academy at Groton, a Chapter 766 school providing specialized instruction tailored to each child’s abilities.
Additionally, services include a 12-bed group home for medically complex children under Department of Children and Families custody, offering stable residential care and access to the full spectrum of clinical, therapeutic, and educational supports.
Through this integrated model, Seven Hills’ Children’s Medical & Skilled Nursing services delivers high-quality, person-centered care that promotes health, development, and successful transitions to home or community-based settings for children with the most complex needs.
