Massachusetts Senator Robyn Kennedy Visits Seven Hills Pediatric Center in Groton

Massachusetts State Senator Robyn Kennedy, who represents the First Worcester District, recently visited the Seven Hills Pediatric Center campus in Groton, Massachusetts, along with Chief of Staff Carole Meehan Oyama.

As Chair of the Massachusetts Committee on Children, Families, and Persons with Disabilities and Vice Chair of the Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use, and Recovery, Senator Kennedy advocates for many of the populations served by Seven Hills Foundation.

During the visit, Senator Kennedy toured the Seven Hills Pediatric Center and met with staff who provide specialized care to 83 medically complex children and adults. The Groton campus is also home to Massachusetts' first Department of Children and Families (DCF)-licensed Medically Complex and Behavioral Complex Residence.

The visit highlighted the critical health and human services that Seven Hills Foundation provides to children and adults with complex medical and behavioral needs across Massachusetts.

Community BINGO Fundraiser Raises $3,400 for Karen's Out and About Fund

A community BINGO fundraiser organized by Seven Hills clinician Emily Janson raised $3,400 for Karen's Out and About Fund, which supports meaningful community experiences for people served by Seven Hills Adult Residential Programs.

The fund was established by Gerald and Eileen Kramer in honor of Karen Reynolds' retirement in 2024. It helps cover the cost of activities that promote social connection, community inclusion, and quality of life for individuals receiving supports through Seven Hills.

Held on September 4 at the East End Sportsmen's Club in Fall River, Massachusetts, the event featured BINGO, a 50/50 raffle, and more than 100 donated raffle prizes, including gift baskets, wreaths, and gift certificates.

Thanks to community support, local business donations, and a matching contribution from the club's Auxiliary, the fundraiser exceeded expectations and will help create more opportunities for community engagement and enrichment.

Seven Hills Behavioral Health Supports Recovery & Overdose Awareness Efforts in Southeast MA

Teams from Seven Hills Behavioral Health recently participated in Overdose Awareness events in New Bedford, Fall River, and Taunton, Massachusetts, helping connect community members with substance use, recovery, and mental health resources.

The events provided support for individuals affected by substance use disorders and offered opportunities to honor families who have lost loved ones to overdose. Seven Hills staff delivered services with compassion and respect while sharing information about treatment, recovery, and harm reduction.

Through the Seven Hills Behavioral Health outreach van, staff provided HIV and STI testing and distributed public health and harm-reduction supplies. Across the three events, more than 35 people received testing services, and hundreds of prevention and wellness resources were distributed.

As part of Recovery Month and Suicide Prevention Month outreach efforts, Seven Hills continues to bring healthcare, behavioral health, and recovery support services directly into communities. Mobile outreach programs help reduce barriers to care and improve access to vital health services for people experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.
