How are Seven Hills Foundation, Open Sky Community Services, and Spectrum Health Systems improving access to behavioral health care?

Seven Hills Foundation, Open Sky Community Services, and Spectrum Health Systems have partnered to create a "No Wrong Door" approach to behavioral health services in Worcester County, making it easier for individuals and families to find the support they need.

Through this collaborative partnership, people seeking help can access a broad range of services—including mental health care, substance use treatment, recovery support, family services, and community-based programs—regardless of which organization they contact first. The partnership improves care coordination by streamlining referrals, enhancing communication between providers, and helping individuals connect with appropriate services more quickly.

Together, the three organizations offer a comprehensive network of support for children, adults, and families facing mental health, behavioral health, substance use, and recovery challenges throughout Central Massachusetts.

What is the Seven Hills Summer Literacy Initiative?

The Seven Hills Summer Literacy Initiative (SLI) is a literacy enrichment program designed to help children strengthen reading skills, prevent summer learning loss, and develop a lifelong love of reading.

Held at 15 locations across Central Massachusetts, the program combines educational activities with engaging, hands-on learning experiences that keep children actively involved throughout the summer.

SLI-VISIT-GROUP

Recently, representatives from United Way of Central Massachusetts and United Way of South Central Massachusetts visited SLI programs at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts in Worcester and the Tri-Community YMCA in Southbridge. During their visit, they observed campers participating in interactive literacy activities led by instructors and camp counselors focused on building reading confidence and academic success.

The continued support of community partners helps expand educational opportunities for local children and reinforces Seven Hills' commitment to improving outcomes for youth and families across the region.
