Free Community Grief Support Groups for Individuals, Families and Healthcare Workers in Central MA

Posted by Hubert, Jennifer

Starting this month, we will help our community respond to change in loss by offering Central Massachusetts residents free weekly virtual grief support groups through ZOOM, led by trained counselors in both English and Spanish. Each group will be facilitated by a professional clinician with knowledge of trauma.  Our Affilaite, Children’s Friend’s expertise in supporting children and families through the Carriage House Grief Support program will provide the training and support the group facilitators. Two other Affiliate organizations of Seven Hills Foundation, YOU, Inc. and Family Services of Central Massachusetts, are collaborating with Children's Friend to bring their expertise to the community.

Individuals, families and healthcare personnel in Central Massachusetts are grieving the loss of people they care about—family members, friends, colleagues—during this COVID-19 pandemic. Many are struggling to cope with trauma or isolation. Not all the deaths were due to the virus, but the grief has been universal. Feeling alone makes grief even more difficult—but we can find support in each other.
