Confidential Care in Our Community Wellness Centers
Seven Hills has provided HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and STI Services and Supports since 1986 in the communities of New Bedford, Fall River and throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. Our integrated team of specialists at the Seven Hills Community Wellness Centers provide educational workshops and social community-building groups for men, women and youth. Individual counseling on substance abuse, domestic violence, HIV, Hepatitis C, STIs, and sexual decision-making is available, along with HIV and STI screening, testing, referral for treatment, and free supplies. The Community Wellness Centers are registered for Opioid-Overdose (O-OD) prevention, and registered and approved for O-OD nasal Narcan distribution. Counselors provide risk- and harm-reduction counseling and supplies, and offer information on access to sterile injection equipment and overdose prevention. Seven Hills Behavioral Health is a qualified provider of Comprehensive Health Promotion Services for People Who Inject Drugs inclusive of Syringe Services Programming.
HIV / STI / Hepatitis C Screening and Testing
Screening and testing services are provided by trained counselors in private confidential settings both on-site at our Community Wellness Centers and in the community at shelters, residential programs, local jails, and clinics provided through the Seven Hills mobile van.
HIV / AIDS Medical Case Management – Project Care
Case Managers support individuals infected by HIV and their families, providing access to medical, social, and support services to help them better manage their health and well-being, and improve their overall quality of life. Project Care includes HIV/AIDS Care Management, Peer Leaders, Transportation, Housing Search, Advocacy, Acupuncture, Transitional Services, and Benefits Counseling.
HIV Notification Service Coordination
Staff coordinates and assist individuals with HIV infection in notifying their sexual and/or needle-sharing partners of possible exposure to HIV. Staff members work with individuals at no cost, helping to identify needs, and connect them to HIV-related services. Notification is offered by a licensed nurse who to help clients connect with identified individuals while maintaining confidentiality, and offering connection to testing and services.
Syringe / Sharps Disposal Services
Seven Hills operates Department of Public Health-approved disposal sites at three locations in Fall River and New Bedford. The kiosks have collected an estimated 158,290 needles and help to provide a safer community.

Men’s Health Project (TWIST)
The Men's Health Project (TWIST) is a prevention and education program addressing substance abuse and sexual health of men who have sex with men (MSM). TWIST works with the help of peers to provide intervention through identifying, training, and modifying risky behaviors in the Gay/Bisexual community.
Adolescent and Young Adult’s Health Project (Project YES!)
Project YES! is a prevention and education program designed to enhance local capacity and mobilize community resources in order to provide comprehensive substance abuse and HIV prevention strategies for racial/ethnic minority adolescents and young adults, including MSM youth in the South coast area.
Situated in our Community Wellness Center in New Bedford, the Food Pantry serves as a critical community resource for men, women and children who suffer from substance abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, and those who engage in high-risk behaviors. The Food Pantry is run by volunteers and operates on MW, 9:30 a.m. – Noon; Thurs 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
