Liz Doles is a prolific artist who has plowed the fields of art making all her life, as a painter, a draughtsman, a printmaker, graphic designer, and photographer. While living in Sri Lanka she discovered the island's garment industry, and began exploring working with fabric. There and in South India, Liz began to see the world through the eyes of a culture of color, rather than her Western bias of line and linear perspective.

In this body of work, Liz Doles creates stitched compositions with scrap fabrics and discarded garment labels, approaching them as a painter. Like brush strokes, each scrap exists in a space that is part of and yet separate from the physical world. Truly, nothing is wasted in God's economy.
