Seven Hills Foundation

Each of our four Behavioral Health Centers provide a range of high quality outpatient psychotherapy services to youth and families across Worcester County. In addition to our most frequently referred services, our staff have additional, specific expertise in a number of evidence-based clinical services.

These specialized clinical services include:

Trauma Services

YOU, Inc. practices trauma informed care at all levels of service and engagement with youth and families. Each provider at YOU, Inc. receives training in identifying and understanding trauma and its impact on those we serve. Additionally, many of our Outpatient Therapists, In-Home Therapy Clinicians, Intensive Care Coordinators, and Residential Clinicians have specific training in Evidence-Based Practice models for the treatment of childhood trauma. Some of those models include:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
  • TFCBT for youth who have been Commercially Sexually Exploited
  • Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) and the ARC GROW Model
  • Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP)
  • The 12 Core Competencies of Childhood Trauma from NCTSN

Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB)

Previously known as Juvenile Sexual Issues (JSI), our Problematic Sexual Behavior program is the longest-running, most successful outpatient program of its kind in Central MA. We support adolescents who have had sexually problematic or harmful behavior, involving their family as well as group therapy in treatment. We are proud of our history and, most importantly, of our outcomes for participants for this specific program often overlooked by other providers.

Additionally, we provide a specialized, evidence based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model for younger children (ages 8 – 12) with problematic sexualized behavior (PSB – CBT). This model relies on individual and family therapy and focuses on community education and prevention efforts.

LGBTQ+

YOU, Inc. is proud to stand with the LGBTQ+ youth community and to provide a safe environment for behavioral health care. Our outpatient clinics offer group therapy for youth who are exploring their sexual orientations and gender expressions or identities. We also have clinicians trained in work with transgender youth including those with gender dysphoria; we use curricula and principles from WPATH in assessing our practice against the most up-to-date Evidence-Based Practice for work with transgender youth.

Early Childhood Mental Health Services

Early Childhood specialty counseling is available for young children (birth to 6) and their caregivers at our Behavioral Health Centers. Grants also allow us to extend our expertise by providing early childhood mental health consultation to preschools and daycare centers throughout Central MA. Some of the primary objectives of the Early Childhood Program are to prevent suspension and expulsion of preschool-aged children and children in after-school care, connect young children in need of mental health interventions to appropriate services, promote positive attachment relationships between young children and their adult caregivers, and help those caregivers to respond to and manage their child’s challenging behaviors.

Early Childhood Clinicians have specialized training and or experience in working with young children in addition to advanced training in the following models:

  • The Pyramid Model
  • Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) with young children
  • Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC)
  • The Brazelton Touchpoints Model

Adolescent Substance Use Services

YOU, Inc. supports adolescents to connect with healthy community activities to support them in their recovery from substance using behaviors. Adolescents who engage in our substance use services have access to individual and family therapy with a clinician who is trained in an Evidence-Base Practice model called Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA).

Psychological Testing

YOU, Inc. provides psychological assessments for youth who are referred in order to assess and accurately diagnose strengths and functioning across an array of areas including: cognitive, neuropsychological, academic, behavioral, social, and emotional functioning. Standardized assessments and measures are used to help determine the most effective treatment path for an individual. These assessments and tests can help clarify an individual’s diagnosis, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, among others.

Creative Therapies

Various creative therapies are used across all of our programs to enhance the comprehensive, whole-person or whole-family care we provide. Some of those creative interventions include:

  • Occupational Therapy Interventions (OT)
  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness Practices
  • Art Therapy

Community Service Agency

YOU, Inc.’s Community Service Agency (CSA) provides intensive care coordination and family partner services through the family support and training role. The CSA program is trained in the Wraparound model of care, which uses a holistic approach to services and places the child and the family at the center of their own care. The model uses the ideas and perspectives of both the youth and their caregivers to determine what services and approach would be most useful for each individual child. This model is designed to work with families with children with serious behavioral or mental health challenges.

Graduate Level Intern Training

Our Behavioral Health Centers offer graduate level internships to students from schools throughout the Northeast in various disciplines such as psychiatry, psychology, social work, mental health counseling, and marriage and family therapy. Our internships provide students with opportunities for direct practice with youth and families in different settings including outpatient clinics, residential program and home and community based settings. Interns receive individual supervision from licensed and experienced staff members, as well as and on-going training throughout the academic year on various clinical topics including but not limited to:

  • Narrative Therapy
  • Family therapy and the use of reflecting teams
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Psychopharmacology
  • Group Therapy
