Healing the hearts of children
Seven Hills Foundation affiliate, Children’s Friend, is proud to announce that they are the recent recipient of a $1,500 grant award from the Diocese of Worcester’s St. Vincent Healthcare Fund. These substantial funds will be utilized to support The Carriage House program, a free grief support group for children and their families who are suffering from the loss of a loved one. At The Carriage House, children are able to grieve their loss with other like-minded children who are experiencing the same feelings. Research has shown that most children do not need therapy when someone who was important to them has passed away; however, being able to discuss these feelings with other kids who are dealing with the same feeling in a safe environment has proven to be beneficial.
We are so thankful to the Diocese of Worcester for this generous award. From their contribution, Children’s Friend will be able to continue to heal the hearts of all the children who are experiencing the unimaginable who enter The Carriage House.
