Congressman Kennedy Visits Pediatric Center
Congressman Joseph Kennedy, 4th Massachusetts District visited Seven Hills Pediatric Center in Hopedale on Friday, July 7th. The purpose of the visit was for Congressman Kennedy to witness first-hand the people and programs that will be devastated by the proposed Medicaid cuts now being offered in the US Senate and the House of Representatives. The visit to Seven Hills Pediatric Center reaffirmed Congressman Kennedy’s commitment to those who are in need of this assistance. He affirmed his opposition to the latest version of the proposed replacement of the Affordable Care Act — which Kennedy says would directly slash Medicaid funding by more than $800 billion over 10 years and would reduce Medicaid-related funding by $1.4 trillion over those 10 years.
Dr. Holly Jarek, Vice President of Seven Hills Pediatric Center, and Bill Stock, Vice President of Government & Community Relations for Seven Hills Foundation, served as hosts to Congressman Kennedy who was able to visit with the children and staff, and learn about the needs of pediatric long-term care. The Congressman stressed to those in attendance that now is the time to be vigilant about speaking to our legislators about healthcare.
