Come see SHRI in A Christmas Carol
Members of the Seven Hills community will be performing along aside the actors at Trinity Repertory Company in their 40th anniversary production of "A Christmas Carol". Mark your calendars for December 27th at 7:30 pm and December 28th at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm. to see the Seven Hills participants’ performance.
In addition to Seven Hills Rhode Island, Trinity Rep has included 17 other groups with anywhere from five to 13 members, from children to senior citizens, to become a community caroling group that appears in two scenes in “Christmas Carol.” The groups rotate appearances, each doing three consecutive shows. Most have no performance experience but “believe in what they do,” which was an important, if unwritten, criteria.
Participants include: Rhode Island Latino Arts, Progreso Latino, Youth Pride, Dance for the Aging Population, Providence Veterans Administration, Girls Rock! Rhode Island, Sisters Overcoming Abusive Relationships, Boys & Girls Clubs of Woonsocket and Pawtucket, Dorcas International, Tomaquag Museum, Partnership for Providence Parks, YouthBuild Prepatory Academy, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Tenderloin Opera Company, The Manton Avenue Project, Seven Hills Foundation, and the Festival Ballet Providence.
“We wanted diversity so we have veterans, adaptive dance group, kids from area boys and girls clubs, seniors who get together to dance,” says co-director Stephen Thorne. “It’s joyous.”
Please come out and support both Trinity Rep and Seven Hills Rhode Island!
Tickets start at $25
