Seven Hills Foundation Invests in Its Staff
In March of 2011, Dr. David Jordan, President and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation announced to its direct support staff the results of a comprehensive review of employee compensation. Based on this review, and its desire to remain the Employer of Choice in Massachusetts, Dr. Jordan was pleased to announce that Seven Hills Foundation would provide a base pay increase for certain staff, based on position, industry comparable, as well as years of service. This was not an across the board, one size fits all approach, but rather a targeted position by position – affiliate specific assessment. Those staff members not receiving a base increase received a one-time bonus. As such, Seven Hills committed over $1 million in base salary and bonus increases. Dr. Jordan also made clear that no member of Senior Leadership received a pay increase through this special allocation. Base salary increases were implemented following a specific review of each affiliate and the particular positions held by an employee within that affiliate.
Furthermore, Seven Hills once again subsidized the entire annual health insurance premium increase in 2011, which increases its total contribution toward employee health insurance to more than $7 million. This commitment by Seven Hills Foundation saves the average full-time employee $20.00 each pay period. In addition to its health insurance subsidy to employees, this year Seven Hills Foundation initiated “The President’s Emergency Fund” which provided over $30,000 to employees and their families in times of crisis. These emergency awards helped certain of our Seven Hills staff get through difficult personal times, paid for some heating costs over the winter, or helped put food on the table of one of our employees facing a crisis. These are some of the important ways that Seven Hills Foundation recognizes the importance of the incredible dedication and work provided by its hardworking employees.
