Seven Hills Pediatric Center Now Accepting Placement Applications for Opening of East Wing, May 2008! Overview Seven Hills Pediatric Center is a Pediatric Skilled Nursing Community, which provides comprehensive, compassionate care to children and young adults who are severely developmentally delayed and have complex medical needs. Children at Seven Pediatric Center enter prior to their 22nd birthday and traditionally remain throughout their lifetime. In independent nursing home evaluations, Seven Hills Pediatric Center ranks in the top FOUR percent of all nursing homes nationally. Under the auspices of our Pediatric Medical Director, children receive all the necessary medical, nursing, therapy, and leisure services possible to enhance their quality of life. Many of the residents come to us with a history of congenital birth defects, past infections, or traumatic events. Cognitively, residents are under the age of 12 months and non-ambulatory. The Medical Review Team of the Department of Public Health generally approves admissions. In addition, children attend an on-site, accredited, Department of Education Special Needs School during the day. The staff of educators, all whom specialize in the education of developmentally challenged residents, works closely with each child’s individual school system to develop a plan for each resident to assist them in reaching their greatest potential. Community involvement and field trips are also an integral part of the children’s daily lives. Technology has changed the face of medical care and the staff at Seven Hills Pediatric Center has many years of experience working with residents who are ventilator dependent, have tracheostomies, and feeding tubes. For children who require additional monitoring, we have a state-of-the-art monitoring system. Seven Hills Pediatric Center is located in Groton, Massachusetts. Surrounded by six acres of land the Pediatric Skilled Nursing Community is located in a neighborhood of single-family homes, private schools, and a walking trail. The new 35,000 square foot West Wing, which opened in October 2006, provides a beautiful, technically sophisticated home to our residents. Construction of the East Wing which will include respite opportunities will be completed in May of 2008. To learn more about the exciting renovation and expansion visit Dignity by Design.
