Supported Employment

Integrated Work Sites

The goal of an Integrated Work Site is to provide valuable, on the job training for individuals supported by CareerSource, and for the employer, to obtain and sustain a team of employees that are efficient and productive and provide a low cost workforce option for some aspects of their business.

Seven Hill Family Services has an ongoing interest in partnering with businesses to create Integrated Work Sites as they provide excellent training modules for various types of work settings. Integrated Work Sites are an important resource for Seven Hills Family Services to utilize when training individuals with disabilities that hope to enter the workforce in a supported employment or regular employment position.

Integrated Work Sites generally involve a team of individuals determined by the company’s production needs and goals. A Seven Hills Family Services sponsored supervisor is completely responsible for the trainees at all times and manages the completion of all contracted work in accordance with all pre-determined procedural and quality standards. There is no charge for the supervisor’s time.

All aspects of the production process performed by the team of trainees will undergo a time study reflecting the use of the current wage and price survey in accordance with the Department of Labor standards.

CareerSource Integrated Work Site services include:

  • Packaging
  • Merchandising
  • Clerical Work
  • Shipping and Receiving
  • Janitorial Services
  • Food Services
  • Lawn Maintenance
  • Manufacturing

Integrated Work Sites are generally scheduled between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and include one fifteen minute break, and a half hour unpaid lunch break which is not included in the total number of production hours.
