Supported Employment
Community Based Day Support
The overall goal of Community Based Day Support is to provide support and opportunities for people to enrich their lives, develop personal competencies and skills and enjoy a full range of activities while developing a network of relationships in and around their communities. People participating in the program will be offered the opportunity to fully participate in the opportunities generally available to any citizen in the Commonwealth. Community Based Day Support will provide the opportunity for individuals to develop, enhance and maintain their competence and confidence in personal, social and community based activities. Community Based Day Support will be designed in accordance with individual preferences with an emphasis on self-advocacy, determination and individual control. Individuals participating in Community Based Day Support will spend more than half of program time engaged in these pursuits. Each individual participates in at least two community-training sessions per week. These community-based sessions will focus on access to community events, places of interest, and business establishments throughout Central Massachusetts. Unlike some of the other employment options offered by Seven Hills Family Services, work and work related activities are not the primary focus of Community Based Day Support.
