Frequently Asked Questions

Who schedules and coordinates medical appointments for individuals supported by Seven Hills?

The Residence Directors in each home will schedule medical visits, coordinate specific paperwork needs and assist individuals to attend the appointments.  Family members are welcome to attend appointments, and will receive copies of all results from the appointments.

Any changes in medication require a guardian’s approval.

How much room and board does an individual being supported contribute?

Residential charges are 75% of the individual’s total income and are intended to cover room, and any personal expenses. Additionally the individual should anticipate expenses for entertainment, personal hygiene items, clothing, dining out, etc.

Who should I contact if I have a question that I feel is of an emergency nature?

The staff at the residence is able to contact the Resident Director 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as necessary, using a secure paging system issued throughout the Seven Hills Community Services organization.

Are there rules for family and friends who want to visit the residence?

Yes. To insure the safety and security of our residents, Seven Hills Community Services has implemented visitation guidelines at each individual residence. All guidelines are put in place to encourage individuals to have family and friends visit them in their home. We do ask that visitors be sensitive to the needs of others living in the home and make arrangements for visits taking place in the home in advance.  Please remember to knock or use the doorbell when visiting.

Can a family member have a key to the individuals home?

Although that may seem to the family member like a good idea, over the years, we have learned that individuals feel more secure knowing that there is a very limited number of keys and limited access to the homes they live in. The only people who will have keyed access to homes are the individuals living in the home itself, if they are capable of keeping it in their possession, and Seven Hill's employees that would have a need to access the home on a regular basis.

Can family members or guardians review records at the homes?

Yes. Guardians who are also a family member, or other specified guardians, may review documents and records specific to their own family member only.  Family members who are not guardians must have the individual’s written permission to review their records.  Records must be reviewed in the presence of a Seven Hills manager, which in the case of a residence would be the Residence Director or the Area Director.

Can a Guardian have copies of financial records if Seven Hills Community Services is the acting rep-payee?

Yes. Upon written request guardians can receive monthly records of income and expenditures from the Residence Director.
