Seven Hills Clinical Associates Seven Hills Academy Program Descriptions Seven Hills Academy, located at Devens, Massachusetts, offers programs for children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorder, dual diagnosis, and severely challenging behaviors. Each program utilizes an interdisciplinary team approach built upon the principles of applied behavior analysis and positive behavioral supports. At Seven Hills Academy, the staff works to improve the abilities of each student with the goal of enhancing their life options. Special Education Teachers, a Reading Specialist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist and Music Therapist provide individual and small group support as well as consultation services to students, family and staff. Elementary/Middle School Behavioral Program This program provides services for children ages 5-11 who need highly structured programming, individually tailored to meet their needs. The program is based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis and provides students with discrete trial training throughout the day. Students are taught specific skills within this highly structured environment and are given the opportunity to generalize these skills into a less restricted classroom setting. Elementary/Middle School Program This program services children ages 9-12 with a focus on academic programming within a structured environment, incorporating the principles of applied behavior analysis and positive behavior modifications. The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks guide program development, instruction and instructional strategies, along with ongoing individual assessments. Middle School-Academic Program This program provides direct instruction in all academic areas for students ages 15-19. Instruction is specifically designed to meet the needs of each child and incorporates academic skills, social skills and the necessary functional skills to build independence for a smooth transition into the challenges of young adulthood. Middle School-Behavioral Program This program provides services for student’s ages 15-19 that need highly structured programming, individually tailored to meet their needs. The program model is based upon the principles of applied behavior analysis and provides students with discrete trial training throughout the day. Students are taught specific skills within this highly structured environment and are given the opportunity to generalize these skills into a less restrictive setting in preparation for the challenges of young adulthood. Young Adult Program The young adult program is designed to meet the needs of student’s ages 17-22 that have severe challenges. The emphasis in this program model is placed on teaching functional and vocational skills within a classroom setting. Opportunities to apply these skills in a work setting are provided to assist with the transition into supported employment within the community.
