SEVEN HILLS FOUNDATION NAMED TOP GROWTH NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION
On Sunday, October 29, 2006 the Worcester Business Journal published its much-anticipated list of “Top Growth Companies in 2006”. For the second consecutive year, Seven Hills Foundation is ranked as the #1 Fastest Growing Non-profit in Central Massachusetts.
This is a significant honor as the pool of participants deepened due to a change in the publication’s criteria for recognition. In years’ past, companies had to disclose employee growth and profit/loss parameters – two requirements that discouraged participation among companies that weren’t willing to reveal their bottom lines. Additionally, when comparing the numbers of the companies that did participate, the Worcester Business Journal was seeing a decline in the correlation between employee growth and revenue growth. Companies were keeping their workforce numbers steady as their revenue grew. Based on this finding, the Worcester Business Journal determined that “…Increased headcounts don’t always equate growth. It’s having the right heads in the count that makes the difference”.
As a result, the publication decided to base its 2006 ranking on just one criterion: revenue growth over the past three fiscal years. More companies were willing to participate, and Seven Hills Foundation’s growth prevailed despite the increased competition overall – and within the nonprofit category that reflected the diversity of participants such as Digital Federal Credit Union (ranked 2nd), and Becker College (ranked 3rd).
Dr. David A. Jordan, President/CEO of Seven Hills Foundation reflected on the organization’s success, emphasizing the value of an exceptional staff. "It is certainly an honor to be recognized by the Worcester Business Journal as the #1 Top Growth nonprofit organization in Central Massachusetts. It's doubly gratifying to receive the accolade two years in a row. The growth we've achieved at Seven Hills Foundation is directly attributable to the men and women who lead and provide direct clinical care to the children and adults with life challenges that we support throughout the Commonwealth. Our "staff family" transcends our success – with them, our support of individuals with disabilities continues apace."
With two years of success proven in the rankings, Seven Hills Foundation is raising the bar – one client, one exceptional employee at a time. As a nonprofit organization that exists to serve others, we can be proud that our continued growth is impacting the growth of the individuals with disabilities we support and their success in achieving the highest quality of life and sense of well-being.
