Gold Medal Soccer Stars
This year's soccer season started on September 10, 2006 when clients of Seven Hills Family Services began practicing on Assumption College’s Lacrosse field every Sunday afternoon. The Seven Hills Family Services Revolution, a team of individuals with disabilities coached by Ann Marie Dawes, experienced a much drier season than last year and was more prepared for their assessment round held at Ruel Fields in Oxford, MA on Sunday, October 15. During the competition, they did a great job working together as a team, earning their participation ribbon along with all the teams who attended. The Revolution continued to practice and prepared themselves for the state tournament with a scrimmage against the Shrewsbury Juniors soccer team.
The state tournament was held on Sunday, November 5 at Governor’s Academy in Byfield, MA. The Revolution encountered four teams: The Haverhill Angels, the Hampshire Court Cheetahs, the Andover Stars Seniors, and the Hopkinton Pride. All the teams were very competitive, but the Revolution used their skills to remain undefeated and earned a gold medal for the second year in row. Congratulations to the athletes and partners on such a great season!
