Benefit for Seven Hills Behavioral Health
On Saturday, December 1st, in recognition of World AIDS Day, the Longwood Symphony Orchestra performed in Boston at the New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall to benefit the HIV/AIDS programs of Seven Hills Behavioral Health. Jonathan McPhee conducted a beautiful, dynamic, and invigorating concert opening with Sensemaya by Silvestre Revueltas, followed by the Coronation Scene from Boris Godunov by Modest Mussorgsky. The concert ended with the riveting and exhilarating voices of Marjorie Elinor Dix, Mary Phillips, John Bellemer, and Gustav Andreassen singing Leos Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass.
