Seven Hills Staff Member Jessica Rodriguez Receives National Honor
Jessica Rodriguez, Director of the Luis Martinez House and Project C.A.R.E. (Case Management, Advocacy, Referrals, Education), received the “2006 Health & Human Services Award” at the 7th Annual Hispanic Recognition Excellence Awards held in New Bedford on Wednesday, October 18, 2006. The Luis Martinez House and Project C.A.R.E. are both based in New Bedford and operated by Seven Hills Behavioral Health. One individual each year is recognized as the Health & Human Services Latino Award recipient based onleadership qualities and positive energy directed toward improving the health and well-being of the Latino community. Awards Committee Director Emilio Cruz presented the honor to Jessica in the presence of Keynote Speaker, the Honorable U.S. Treasurer, Anna Escobedo Cabral.
The Luis Martinez House is a long-term, independent-living program for individuals infected with HIV/AIDS. Jessica manages the care of 10 individuals, both men and women, who reside in the home and are provided with 24-hour staff support.
Project C.A.R.E. provides HIV/AIDS Case Management Services including Transportation, Peer Support, and Acupuncture treatments for pain management. As the program’s Director, Jessica oversees a staff of seven who provide services that address the essential needs of clients
with HIV/AIDS to make their lives more comfortable and manageable.
Jessica advocates tirelessly to maintain the dignity of individuals infected with HIV/AIDS and manages a continuum of services that support the highest quality of life for her clients. The success of both programs is evidence of Jessica’s leadership abilities and the dedication that resulted in an honor for which she, and all of Seven Hills Foundation, can be very proud.
