Washington, DC – On Friday, February 10, 150 leaders of The Arc from across the country met with a variety of senior White House officials at a Community Leaders Briefing to ask questions and discuss issues facing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) (for Massachusetts attendees please see list below which includes towns). The session, held just for The Arc, included an unannounced visit from President Barack Obama. The President spoke of his commitment to people with disabilities saying, “I’ve got your back.” Click here to see video of the the President’s speech.

Assistive technology solutions fact sheet

The Family Center on Technology and Disability has a new AT fact sheet that provides visual examples of a range of Assistive Technology products to help parents begin their search for assistive technology. The fact sheet includes basic questions to consider when trying to identify AT devices that will best suit your child and illustrates examples of some of the AT options available. Each AT example has an icon indicating whether it is high-tech, mid-tech, or low-tech. Check it out here!
