Homestead Works, located in North Smithfield, Rhode Island offers training for those individuals who are interested in exploring job opportunities in their local community and/or acquire independent home maintenance skills. Individuals can participate in training that includes:

  • Employment Search Techniques
  • Resume Writing
  • Interviewing Skills
  • Job Skills /Completing job applications
  • Home Economics/House Maintenance
  • Production (in-house contract work)
  • Art Therapy

Community Employment & TrainingCommunity Employment & Training provides meaningful employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Many of the individuals supported by Community Employment & Training have been employed for years, some for over a decade. The program presently supports 40 individuals in a wide range of services including:

  • Individual choice of job placement.
  • Job coaching and training.
  • On going supports throughout the length of employment.
  • Transportation and travel training.
  • Competitive wages.
  • Integration into society.
