Facility-Based EmploymentThe facility-based employment component of the CareerSource program emphasizes short and long term vocational goals and is intended to support the person centered plan designed to meet the needs and goals of the program participant. Vocational independence is a primary focus and training opportunities are designed to offer the participants multiple options to develop and enhance skill sets. Training as well as paid work opportunities are provided within this program.

Group Supported EmploymentThe goal of the group supported component of the CareerSource program is to provide valuable on the job training to individuals supported by the CareerSource program. This training, in conjunction with the establishment of natural supports within the workplace, is designed to prepare the individual for eventual competitive job placement in the community. For the employer, the goal is to obtain a reliable and valuable employee.

CareerSource also offers real-time, hands on training in three core areas of food service occupations. These include:
The Kitchen at Seven Hills which provides a structured food service training program designed to prepare participants for a variety of food service related jobs in the community while offering in-house daily meal preparation, daily menu and snack bar services, full catering services and prepared meal distribution to community partners.

The Seven Hills Cafe is located at 81 Hope Avenue in Worcester and offers participants the opportunity to serve a variety of gourmet coffees, menu items from the Kitchen, fresh fruit and health snack items, as well as items from the countries in partnership with Seven Hills Global Outreach.

Milestone Ultimate Hot Dogs is located in Uxbridge, Massachusetts and offers participants the opportunity to run a small business on Main Street, serving residents in Uxbridge and surrounding towns.

Individual Supported Employment (Competitive Job Placement)Individual Supported Employment provides comprehensive career planning and placement supports to individuals seeking employment in and around their communities. This process involves a person centered and individualized career plan developed with the aid of a Seven Hills job coordinator trained to assist in securing and maintaining long term placement in the community. Services include coordination of SSI/SSDI, functional vocational assessments, job exploration, “situational” employment opportunities, and resume development. Once employment is achieved, CareerSource provides onsite job training, short and long term job coaching and assistance in the development of natural supports.

Community-Based Day Supports (CBDS)The overall goal of Community-Based Day Supports is to provide support and opportunities for people to enrich their lives, develop personal competencies and skills and enjoy a full range of activities while developing a network of relationships in and around their communities. Program participants are offered the opportunity to fully participate in the opportunities generally available to any citizen in the Commonwealth.
