Child Care ResourcesChild Care Resources (CCR) began in 1986 to provide affordable, quality child care in Worcester County. The program is comprised of two major components supported by our Fitchburg and Worcester sites. CCR Site Locations:
Resource & Referral Services “R and R” offers services to the general public and community to locate child care services. To see your service delivery area of the cities and towns served by the Fitchburg and Worcester sites, please see below.
Voucher Child Care Child Care Resources assists eligible families in their search for subsidized child care throughout Worcester County. Families are determined eligible through the DTA (Department of Transitional Assistance) office if currently receiving TAFDC or have received TAFDC in the last year. Income eligible child care assistance is also available for non-TAFDC families. The Department of Early Education and Care maintains a waitlist for all families who are income eligible for a state subsidy. In order to qualify for a state subsidy, you must meet financial guidelines as well as service need guidelines. You can check your financial eligibility by viewing the state sliding fee scale. In order to be eligible for any voucher, all adults in the household must also have a service need. A service need could be paid employment; job search; education or training; a child with a documented disability or special need; a parent with a documented disability or special need. A service need must be at least 20 hours per week. You can find more information on service needs by looking at the EEC Financial Assistance Policy Guide. To be placed on the waitlist, please contact CCR @ 800-660-6269 or 800-952-9183.

Informal Child Care: This is child care provided by an adult in the child’s own home, or by a relative of the child in the relative’s own home. It does not require a license from the state. In order to be paid through the voucher system, informal caregivers must register with the EEC, and attend an orientation at either of CCR’s locations. Download the Registration form below. Licensed Family Child Care Providers Licensed or license exempt child care providers can be reimbursed by the State by accepting a child care voucher. Providers must attend an orientation in either our Fitchburg or Worcester office or complete appropriate paperwork. The orientation will provide an overview of the Voucher Day Care Program. Billing is completed once a month and rates cannot exceed the maximum for Region 2. Providers should be prepared to sign a provider agreement and provide staff with your program’s private rates and scheduled closings. CCR will also need a copy of your license or license exempt letter and your parent handbook. If you would like to update us with your vacancies, please email [email protected] for the Fitchburg area or [email protected] for the Worcester area. In order to accept vouchers you must attend a Voucher Provider Orientation. Download the schedule below. Interested in becoming a Licensed Family Child Care Provider? The first step in the process is to attend a Potential Provider Meeting at one of the EEC Regional Offices. Potential Provider Meetings give potential applicants an opportunity to meet with EEC Licensing staff and talk about the positives and challenges of being a Family Child Care Provider, as well as an overview of the licensing process itself. You will receive an application at the meeting, and staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. To register for an upcoming Potential Provider Meeting, contact the EEC Regional Office nearest you. Please note, the Potential Provider Meeting is a mandatory part of the licensing process, and applications cannot be accepted without evidence of attendance. In addition, you must submit evidence of having completed, within the past year, an orientation. These courses are given by the many Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies throughout the Commonwealth. Group Child Care or School – Age Care: When calling your EEC Regional Office, let the front desk know you are interested in becoming a group child care provider, and a general information brochure will be mailed to you. Once you review the brochure, complete and return the tear-off to register for a Potential Provider Meeting. These meetings, scheduled on a regular basis at your EEC Regional Office and led by a Group Child Care Licensor, will give you all the information you will need to become a licensed provider. At this meeting, you will also receive the Group Child Care application and be informed which licensor has been assigned to assist you in the application and licensing process. It is important to review your individual plans with your licensor to obtain technical assistance with the licensing process. (Please visit our Provider Resource page for EEC contact information and other valuable resources) Billing:Billing is done once per month. Request for Reimbursement (RFR) are sent out on the first business day of each month and must be returned no later than the 10th of the month. CCR staff will process and approve billing and submit to the State. Checks are released when money from the state arrives in the account.
