Outstanding Work Performance is Recognized
for Seven Hills Community Services Cape and Islands Staff
April 2006 – On Friday, March 24, 2006, the Cape Department of Mental Retardation (DMR) Advisory Board held a Staff
Recognition Legislative Breakfast at Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville, MA. Seven Hills Community Services employees Sue Hudson, of Centerville, and Elizabeth Watkins, of Oak Bluffs, were recognized for the outstanding support they provide to the individuals—and their families—in their care. 85 people attended the breakfast with Sue and Elizabeth representing two of the 21 award recipients.
The Cape DMR Advisory Board is comprised of family representatives who work to advance the rights and services of individuals living with mental retardation. The Legislative breakfast was held for state legislators to gain appreciation for the dedication of the DMR and providers’ employees. Professional training and staff retention are critical to the success of all programs. Legislators must be made aware of these key issues, and the funding and support needed to provide the highest quality of care.
