Dr. David A. Jordan Selected for Nonprofit Congress Conference

June 2006, Worcester, MA—Dr. David Jordan, President and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation, has been selected to represent Massachusetts at the Nonprofit Congress National Meeting October 16-17 in Washington, DC. Over 400 individuals from 48 states and the District of Columbia applied to be part of this unique and exciting event. Dr. Jordan will be part of the three-person Massachusetts delegation.

Delegates will represent the broad interests of the sector and mirror the geographic and subsector diversity of the nonprofit sector. Additionally, delegates will bring forward the concerns of traditionally underrepresented groups. At the National Meeting in October, nonprofit leaders from across the country will gather to continue a critical dialogue to unite the nonprofit sector, and assist nonprofits and the communities they serve in gaining a greater voice in our society.

Despite the value that nonprofits add to the quality of life in America, the survival of many charitable organizations is uncertain. Due to a convergence of factors – including declining resources, increasing demands to deliver more services, widespread misunderstanding about nonprofits, mounting operational complexities, and fragmentation within the sector – nonprofits find themselves operating in a most challenging environment. The communities being served and the issues nonprofits care about suffer when they are fragmented and isolated. The Nonprofit Congress’ goal is to unite and strengthen nonprofits around common values, develop a shared vision and priorities, and exercise a collective voice for a better future.

Dr. Jordan has been President and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation for the past twelve years.  During his tenure, Seven Hills Foundation has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind in Massachusetts providing a network of allied healthcare, education, and human services.
