Public Affairs Press Releases Seven Hills Foundation Reaches Halfway Point in Largest Capital Campaign to Date May 2006, Worcester, MA: Seven Hills Foundation announced today it has raised $1.5 million in its $3 million Dignity By Design Capital Campaign. This campaign is targeted toward the expansion and renovation of Seven Hills at Groton, a pediatric nursing home for the Commonwealth’s most profoundly disabled children and young adults. The clients who live at Seven Hills at Groton have very complex medical needs. Once admitted, they typically live at the facility for the remainder of their lives. The construction will be conducted in three phases, with the first phase completed in September 2006. Once the renovation is complete, the facility will house 83 residents and will contain open spaces with living rooms, outdoor gardens and playgrounds, state of the art occupational/physical therapy suites, and an expanded school for the residents as well as day children who require services. “Seven Hills Foundation took a leap of faith when we purchased the facility from Children’s Hospital Boston,” said Seven Hills Foundation President and CEO, Dr. David A. Jordan. “When I visited the facility two years ago, I knew this was an opportunity we couldn’t miss. The work was so important and in line with our mission of providing rich and full lives for those with challenges.” The gifts to the campaign, 70 percent of which are from donors new to Seven Hills Foundation, have come from the Greater Worcester area, as well as from throughout the state. Major donors include Flagship Bank, Wal-Mart, CVS, Knights of Columbus, the Patterson Family, Deluxe Check Corporation, Middlesex Savings Foundation, Rogers Family Foundation, Sean McDonough Foundation, Estate of George Progin, and partner Children’s Hospital Boston. Seven Hills Foundation offers a full range of services that support children and adults with physical, emotional, developmental, social and other significant life challenges. Through school-based services, supported employment, and adult and family services, individuals work toward living more autonomously and participating more fully in their lives.
